Cycle A,B, C

December 25, 2024

In the peace of this holy season, let us pray:

For our Church, the people of God, that the light of Christ may illuminate our life together: let us pray to the Lord.

For the nations and peoples of the world, that the Sun of Justice may dawn upon all lands: let us pray to the Lord.

For our parish family, that our work and worship together may celebrate Christ's presence among us: let us pray to the Lord.

For all children and young people, that they may know the joy of Jesus' coming every day of their lives: let us pray to the Lord.

For the poor, the suffering, and the forgotten, and for those who must spend this day alone, that in the miracle of Christ's birth they may experience the healing and hope of God: let us pray to the Lord.

For all who have died in the peace of Christ [especially _________], that they may be reborn in the life of the Risen Savior: let us pray to the Lord.

For the prayers we now offer to our Heavenly Father in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

Gracious God, your love knows no limit, your compassion no end.

Hear the prayers we make as we celebrate your most perfect gift to your human family:

the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit

as the one God, for ever and ever.

In joyful anticipation of the Lord’s coming at Christmas, let us join our hearts and voices in prayer:

For our Church and parish community, that, like the almost unseen village of Bethlehem, we may reflect, in our life together, the light of God’s love: let us pray to the Lord.

For the nations and peoples of the world, that the reign of God’s justice and mercy may reach to the ends of the earth: let us pray to the Lord.

For all parents and guardians of children, that they may see in Mary and Elizabeth models of loving patience and selfless devotion to children and family: let us pray to the Lord.

For those who do not celebrate Christ’s birth, that they, too, may know the joy and peace of God’s reign: let us pray to the lord.

For our Jewish neighbors and friends, our ancestors in the faith, that God will continue to bless them with happiness and peace: let us pray to the Lord.

For those who have died in the peace of Christ [especially _________], that the new life of the Messiah may be theirs: let us pray to the Lord.

For the prayers we now make in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

O Lord, our Shepherd and Guide, come and shatter the darkness of our world with the light of your love. May these prayers we offer and our work to bring them to fulfillment bring the light and peace of the Messiah into our own time and place.

Let us now offer our prayers in joyful hope to the Lord, who comes to heal us and save us:

That, in our ministries of prayer and charity, our Church and parish may reveal the joy of God’s presence among us: let us pray to the Lord.

That all nations and peoples may confidently and courageously seek the peace of God in every human endeavor: let us pray to the Lord.

That generosity and compassion may be the center of our Advent preparation for the coming of Christ: let us pray to the Lord.

That this Christmas season may be a time of healing and reconciliation with those from whom we are estranged and separated: let us pray to the lord.

That we might bring the life of Christ to the deserts of despair and the parched lands of hopelessness within our homes and communities: let us pray to the Lord.

That all who have died in the peace of Christ [especially _________] may be gathered into the eternal dwelling place of God: let us pray to the Lord.

For the prayers we now make in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

Gracious God, hear our prayers. May your Spirit come upon us to transform our lives and our world from barrenness to harvest, from sickness to wholeness, from division to completeness, from death to life. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Emmanuel.
