“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” With Peter’s simple expression of faith echoing in our hearts, let us pray:

For our Church and parish community, that we may endure in our vocation to be God’s holy people: let us pray to the Lord.

For our bishops, priests, deacons, and ministers, that they may speak Jesus’ words of spirit and life: let us pray to the Lord.

For married couples, that the love of Christ may be the center of their life together: let us pray to the Lord.

For those whose lives are in turmoil, for families in crisis, that the Spirit of God may instill in them renewed hope and lead them to fulfillment and purpose: let us pray to the lord.

For the sick, the suffering, and the dying, that, in their pain and anguish, Christ may be present to them in our compassion and care: let us pray to the Lord.

For those who have died in Christ’s peace [especially _________], that Jesus’ promise of eternal life may be theirs: let us pray to the Lord.

For the prayers we now offer in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

Gracious God, hear our prayers. Do not let us be discouraged by the crosses of our lives, but let us always carry on in hope, in the certainty of your Son’s words of spirit and life. In his name, we pray.

God invites us to the banquet of wisdom and life. With confidence, then, let us pray:

That our prayer and work together as a Church and parish community may be songs of thanksgiving to our gracious God: let us pray to the Lord.

That the ministers of our Church and the leaders of nations may draw courage and understanding from the table of God’s holy wisdom: let us pray to the Lord.

That teachers and their students may, in their studies and research, “discern the will of the Lord” in all things: let us pray to the Lord.

That those suffering from any form of addiction or abuse may rebuild their lives in the hope of God’s wisdom: let us pray to the lord.

That the poor, the homeless, and the forgotten may be welcomed to our banquet tables: let us pray to the Lord.

That the faithful who have died [especially _________], may be raised up by Christ to the life of the Father: let us pray to the Lord.

That God will hear the prayers we now offer in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

O God, in giving us your Son in the bread of the Eucharist, you have made us into your own body, one holy people bound by your love. May these prayers we offer and our work to make them come true make us bread for all people and family to one another. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

The goodness of God has been revealed to us in so many ways: in the wonders of creation and in creation’s re-creation in the Risen Christ. With confidence, then, let us pray:

For Pope N., Bishop N., Father N., and for all who serve the Church, that they may lead us in the way of love taught by Christ: let us pray to the Lord.

For the nations and governments of the world, that, in their laws and public policies, they may uphold the sacred character and dignity of every member of the human family: let us pray to the Lord.

For those who shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, and counsel the grieving and troubled, that God may teach us through their example: let us pray to the lord.

For those fighting to overcome illness or addiction, that Christ will be with them on their difficult journeys: let us pray to the Lord.

For the faithful who have died [especially _________], that the everlasting life of the Risen Christ: let us pray to the Lord.

For the prayers we now offer in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

Bread of heaven, Spirit of life, hear these prayers of ours. As you have become bred of us, make us bread for one another; as your Spirit enlivens us with your love and peace, make us be love and peace for one another. We offer these prayers in the name of the Jesus, the Bread of Heaven, the Risen Christ.
