Let us begin this season of hope and expectation with hearts and voices raised in prayer to “the Lord or justice”:

That our parish community may “overflow” with the love of Christ for one another and for all: let us pray to the Lord.

That all nations and peoples may dwell secure in the peace and justice of God: let us pray to the Lord.

That this Advent season may be a time, not for mindless consumerism, but for the renewal and re-creation of human hearts: let us pray to the Lord.

That families in crisis and those who are separated and estranged from one another may rediscover love and faithfulness in this season of light and hope: let us pray to the lord.

That the sick and the dying may be strengthened by our prayer and compassion for them: let us pray to the Lord.

That Christ will bring into his Father’s presence the souls of all our deceased relatives and friends [especially _________]: let us pray to the Lord.

That God will grant in kindness and mercy the prayers we now make in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

Come, O Lord, and redeem us. Heal us with your peace, teach us in your ways of justice and mercy, and re-create us in your love. We ask this in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

In joyful hope, let us come together in prayer before Jesus, our King and Redeemer:

That our Church and parish community may be a faithful witness to the love and mercy of our heavenly Father: let us pray to the Lord.

That Pope N., Bishop N., Father N., and all who serve the Church may embrace Christ’s priesthood of loving and humble service: let us pray to the Lord.

That the nations and peoples of the world may serve one another in the justice and peace of God’s reign: let us pray to the Lord.

That we may proclaim the great mystery of God’s love through our compassion and charity to the poor, the homeless, and the abandoned: let us pray to the lord.

That the sick, the dying, and the recovering may be blessed by God with hope and “length of days”: let us pray to the Lord.

That the victorious Christ will gather into the kingdom of his Father the souls of all who have died [especially _________]: let us pray to the Lord.

That God will hear the prayers we now offer in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

We praise you, O God, you who are Lord of creation and Ruler of all nations. Hear the prayers we offer in joyful hope until the coming of our Messiah and King, our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit as the one God, for ever and ever.

To God, who is our life and our hope, let us pray:

That our Church and parish community may be a living sign of hope in the reign of God: let us pray to the Lord.

That the nations and peoples of the world may put aside mistrust, prejudice, and hatred, and be united under God, the Father of all: let us pray to the Lord.

That those who fight and suffer for justice may shine like “the (stars) of the firmament” inspiring us to follow them in their struggle: let us pray to the Lord.

That those who are experiencing traumatic change in their lives – due to separation, unemployment, illness, or abandonment – may continue their journeys in hope, always aware of the healing presence of Christ in their lives: let us pray to the lord.

That the hope and healing of Christ will illume the days of the sick, the suffering, the recovering, and the dying: let us pray to the Lord.

That all of who have died in the peace of Christ [especially _________], may experience the fullness of joy in God’s presence: let us pray to the Lord.

That God will hear the prayers we now offer in the silence of our hearts [Pause...]: let us pray to the Lord.

Hear our prayers, O God, you who are the beginning and end of all things and seasons. May we treasure the preciousness of the time you have given us, so that we may live our lives in joyful expectation of the forever of your eternal reign. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
